Pruning

Proper pruning is essential in developing a tree with a strong structure and desirable form. Trees that receive the proper pruning measures while they are young will require less corrective pruning as they mature.

We observe four techniques while pruning to maintain a healthy, strong tree. First, we clean the tree by removing dead or dying and weakly attached limbs. Second, we thin the crown of the tree by selectively removing branches to reduce the weight of heavy limbs, increase air movement and allow more light to penetrate. Third, we clear limbs to provide proper space for things like buildings, walkways, and roads. Finally, reduction may be necessary to provide clearance, often for utility lines.

Wow! This company did a lot of work on my trees and it came out awesome! Everything they said they would do was done and they cleaned up the area better then it was before. My neighbor next door was happy with the end result. The workers were very friendly and kept the area safe. I highly recommend this company to do your trees.

One of the Willow trees in our backyard fell, Jared removed it and pruned the other two trees on our property. His crew did a fantastic job cutting all the dead branches and shaping the other trees to improve their longevity. I highly recommend O’Brien Tree Care for tree removal and tree pruning.

O’Brien Tree Care did a great job taking the dead limbs out of a large maple tree in my back yard. The cost was reasonable, Jared is easy to work with and it’s always nice to support a local small business that does good work. I’ll call them again for future work.
